I am an Italian native speaker, and I am now taking students of all levels who want to practice their vocabulary, conversation, and yes, grammar (I know, I know, but the Italian language is very particular about its grammar).
My lessons heavily hinge on grammar drills (those verbs need to be memorized, you can’t reverse-engineer them unless you happen to have a strong grasp of Latin) and vocabulary learned through pop culture. Depending on your level, we use movie clips, songs, animation, and even variety television. Current clients have enjoyed practicing their language skills through the likes of clips of Don Bluth’s cartoons, Stallone movies, Sex and the City, and Gossip Girl.
I can teach you different idioms and their usages across generations (so many textbooks teach phrases that my grandmother’s generation hardly uses), and I can provide you with a unique understanding of both language and culture. Start by familiarizing yourself with Raffaella Carrà and all the other Italian divas first.
